I've been working in a private practice for just over 2 weeks, and it was IMMEDIATELY apparent how drastically community mental health needs to change.⁠

Depressed, anxious, bipolar, ocd, adhd, ptsd, antisocial, psychotic, and yes, even psychopath.⁠

Hope everyone's weekend is refreshing & bringing peace☮️🌳☀️⁠

Validating not just feelings, but people's experience. This acknowledgement is key to healing & processing. How do you use validation in therapy sessions?⁠

Overworking is quite the trend in social work & is too often glamorized... I used to fall into that trap too, but I had to realize that having boundaries doesn't mean I don't love my job. But my wellbeing matters too. ⁠

This has unfortunately been a common theme with many clients... I don't know who out here is getting licensed & then creating chaos, but perhaps this isn't the field for you...⁠
